臺中市政府將舊車站的候車室閒置空間整修為客家文化園區，館內散發出濃濃的客家文化的建築風格，除了陳設客家文物，還不定期舉辦客家展演，振興客家文化。
The Taichung City Government has renewed the waiting room of the old station into a Hakka Cultural Park. The interior shows the traditional style of Hakka culture. There are antique displays in the hall, and it also hosts Hakka exhibitions from time to time to revitalize Hakka culture.
右邊有一大型免費停車場，停車十分方便，逛東勢第一橫街到第七橫街路程直線距離大約一公里左右。
There is a large free parking on the right hand side. Parking is very convenient. The distance from Dongshi No. 1 Street to No. 7 Street is about one kilometer.

Dongshi Lavender bike rental is right in front of the Hakka Cultural Park. There would be a discount on weekdays if you said that you are the member of Taichung City Computer Association.
東勢薰衣草租車有數百輛車，車子都是老闆親自保養維修，這間店面也是東勢有歷史的建築，原來是舊東勢火車站前的旅社，曾經走過東勢歷史最輝煌世代，從這裡開始往前走就是東勢形象圈街區。
There are hundreds of bicycles available in Lavender bike rental. The car is maintained and repaired by the owner himself. This store is also a historic building in Dongshi. It used to be the hostel in front of the old Dongshi Railway Station. It has traveled through the most glorious generation of Dongshi history. From this landmark beyond is the Dongshi image circle block.

老闆娘非常熱心介紹景點及路線，服務佳，救援服務很貼心。四人座在毛毛雨天及大太陽時可以遮風擋雨的，加上是電動車，不用踩！
租好車就可以去吃早餐啦！東勢的早餐店非常多，來之前可以先電話詢問有沒有開，以免吃不到。像我們就沒吃到灌蛋餅啦！當然東勢街上是不會餓到肚的，走幾步就有巷弄美食。
The shop owner is very friendly; the four-seats bike has roof could take away some heat from the sun. The bike build in electronic motor is easy to travel. There are many delicious local breakfast around the alley, some of shop are very busy in the morning, make sure you make reservation.

沒吃到怎麼辦呢？哎呀！東勢街區不缺的就是銅板美食啦！灌蛋餅吃不到就走出巷子到勢林路上去吃崎頭肉丸筒仔米糕啦！

雖然還沒到營業時間，老闆和他嫂子仍然熱情接待，崎頭肉丸老闆算是二代接班，從小學時候就幫家裡賣肉丸和筒仔米糕
Although the business hours have not yet arrived, the owner and his sister-in-law are ready to warmly welcome customers. The owner of Qitou Meatballs is the second-generation, he helps the business from elementary school.
嫂嫂嫁過來後都協助公婆負責筒仔米糕的製作，因此二代接班後，就以筒仔米糕為主力，肉丸由小叔負責，兩人分工合作。
The sister-in-law assisted the in-laws helps the first generation with the rice cakes. When the second generation took over, the rice becomes the main dish, and his brother in charge of the meatballs.
來東勢就不能一直吃一直吃，為了身材著想，先到東豐自行綠廊騎車去.
Lots of delicious street food in Dongshi, would need some exercise to balance up the trip.
東豐自行車綠廊平日及下雨天人比較少，四人電動車才能進入哦！想運動健身就租一般腳踏車。從客家文化園區到東豐鐵橋約4.1公里，其實用走的也很舒服，來回8.2公里，大約16000步，大約2小時時間，喜歡健走的朋友可以考慮走走！當然騎車只要一個小時，趕時間或帶小孩的朋友可以騎這段就好，以免小朋友中途耍賴不想騎。
Dongfeng Bicycle Green Gallery has less people during weekdays and rainy days, if you want to travel by electric car must have 4 people to share together. Otherwise just rent a regular bike would be easy. It is about 4.1 kilometers from Hakka Cultural Park to Dongfeng Iron Bridge. Walk by foot is also very comfortable in the woods. The trip total is 8.2 kilometers back and forth, around 16,000 steps, and 2 hours in the trip for those who enjoy hiking. Of course, it only takes an hour to ride a bicycle. Recommend this route for visitors with childrens.

回到東勢可以騎到本街第五橫街口中華電信前，吃粉粿仙草冰，營業時間 8:30-13:00左右(賣完為止)，要提醒大家老闆在下雨天粉粿做比較少，所以要早一點去。我們沒拍到照片就表示沒吃到啦！
After finished the bike ride would be a great treat to enjoy the herbal jelly ice from the 5th Hengjiekou of the main street in front of the Chunghwa Telecom. The business hours are from 8:30-13:00
#原東勢公學校宿舍 台中市東勢區第五橫街38-2號
原東勢公學校宿舍建於日治時期大正十年（1921），採用檜木建造，整修時保存原有日式工法及材料，可做為日治時期建築技術研究使用，其中校長宿舍保存最好，門窗均易打開，屋內佈置、格局也都保存原貌。未來部分空間作為校史室外，其餘空間則作為臺中市客家委員會辦理大埔音傳習校室使用。
Dongshi Public School Dormitory No. 38-2 Wuheng Street, Dongshi District, Taichung City
The dormitory was built in 1921 during the Japanese occupation period. It was constructed with cypress wood, and all Japanese architecture with materials was all preserved. It would be a remarkable research for academic study. The principal’s dormitory was the best preserved of all rooms. The doors and windows are still in function, and the all layout of furniture were also preserved as the old setting. In the future this room will be used as the school document reserved room, and the rest of the space will be used for social activity for the Taichung Hakka Committee.
#開基祖師巧聖先師廟
#巧聖仙師 - 魯班仙師台灣開台祖廟
廟內除供奉主神巧聖仙師外，也配祀泥水工程業祭拜的荷葉仙師與鋼鐵工匠業祭拜的爐公仙師。全臺灣主祀魯班的廟宇有三十四座，其中此廟分香廟就有二十四座。農曆五月初七巧聖仙師聖日各地分廟信徒前來東勢朝拜進香。

The temple worships Qiao Sheng master, Lotus master, and Lu Gong master. There are 34 temples in Taiwan for Lu Ban Xian Shi. The followers will come to Dongshi from everywhere to attend the ceremony on every 7th, May of lunar calendar.
巧聖先師廟中有一座大古錢「規矩門」，寫有「圓規方矩」是巧聖仙師提醒世人：做人要外圓內方，待人以寬，律己以嚴，遵守倫常道德，不可逾越規矩。一般是依古禮進行入門儀式，從「規矩門」中間的方孔穿過，也象徵尊師重道的倫理精神。即所謂「無規矩不成方圓」，
There is a ‘Rule Gate’ in the temple as a reminder to his followers : A kind man should behave smooth to others, and keep principles to oneself; Have a good personality abide by the moral and ethical. The ancient ceremony starts from enter the square window of the gate as a symbol as ‘No achievements without regulations at heart. ’
魯班的發明以魯班尺最有特色，以「生、老、病、死、苦」為基數，每字有一寸四分長，使用時，以不碰到死、苦為準則，流傳至今仍為木工、裝潢界廣為使用。魯班尺為木工丈量和畫線的重要工具，是行業內「立規矩」、「校方圓」、「定準繩」、「測直平」的工具，更被後世引伸為處世標準和道德準繩。
The famous invention of Lu Ban Xian Shi master was the ruler system he created for carpenter in construction. The measurement was listed in Chinese character as ‘Prosper, Aging, Sickness, Death, Suffer’, and 1.4 inches per word. The carpenters still follow the system in construction now, and to avoid ‘Death and Suffer’ is the basic principle for all kinds of construction or interior.
#巧聖仙師廟牌樓(3D地景彩繪階梯)，以東勢舊火車及林業文化發展歷史為背景，加上巧聖仙師廟的「圓規方矩」、墨斗、客家桐花等為元素，不同的角度可以拍出不同的畫面。
#Qiao sheng xian shi Temple Archway (3D painting ladder)
It is an artwork created by local artist, the concept was from Dongshi old train and the history of forestry culture as the background, and the ‘Rule Gate’ of Qiao sheng Xian shi Temple.
It also show diversity of images from different angles.
#鯉魚伯公廟(台中市東勢區文化街113號 )
鯉魚伯公廟又稱鯉魚伯公祠、永安宮，為臺灣台中市東勢區東安里的土地公廟，建立於大甲溪堤防上，神明以鯉魚的形象著稱。是東勢區最有客家特色的文化景點之一，俯瞰是一條狀似鯉魚的石崁，抬頭仰望竟是一道長達160尺的大護坡，是全臺罕見具有獨特鯉魚造型的石崁。
#Liyu Bogong Temple (No. 113, Wenhua Street, Dongshi District, Taichung City)
The Liyu Bogong Temple was also known as Yongan Palace, which was built upon the Dajiaxi Embankment. The temple was worship God in an image in cyprinoid fish, which was a special icon of Hakka culture in Dongshi. From a top view was a cyprinoid-shaped piers, and it was 160-foot-long, which was a rare and unique stone piers in Taiwan.
相傳東勢先民在清朝乾隆末年，越過大甲溪開墾東勢，於今東安社區(牛屎坪)聚集形成市集，因大甲溪常氾濫成災，故居民在街道下方斜坡用石頭依地勢砌造石崁，預防溪水倒灌。因斜坡地形於石崁建造完成後，形體狀似鯉魚，堆砌的石頭尤如魚鱗般，居民深感奇特，就在頭部安奉「伯公」神位，龍身長約160公尺，從此大甲溪洪災不再越堤半步。居民日常有疑難雜症都來拜拜請示，十分靈驗，從此護佑東勢區民，香火旺盛。可由鯉魚伯公神像兩側楹聯落款：「洞天自古號鯉魚，當日立社稱神，此等靈機隨造化，福地流傳名紫蟹，于今水源自有主，這般景運巧推排。」看出神蹟。
The cyprinoid-shaped piers was built in late of Qianlong Dynasty, which was a floodwall for Dajia stream. The length was 160 meters, and the local residents believe the floodwall not only stop the flooding, but also brought the good luck to the neigh hood, and that’s how the Liyu Bogong Temple was from. And the Liyu( cyprinoid in Chinese) had become the guardian of the local Dongshi District.
鯉魚伯公公園建於民國99年，是東勢居民散步、賞景的好地方，可以遠眺大甲溪畔風光。
The Liyu Bogong Park was built in 2010, which is a good place to enjoy a walk and scenery for Dongshi residents. The scenery can overlook the Dajia stream.
東勢中盛巷美食街：在東勢客運及東勢國小之間，知名店家老趙排骨牛肉麵、清美小吃部、老鄰居麵食小吃部，其實距離客家文化園區停車場大約500公尺，車可停東勢國小旁或客家文化園區。
Zhongsheng Food Street: It located between Dongshi Transport and Dongshi Elementary School, the well-known dish is Ribs Beef Noodles, Qingmei sneak shop, and Old Neighbors noodle shop. They all located about 500 meters away from the parking lot of Hakka Cultural Park. There is free parking in the elementary school or in the Hakka Cultural Park.
東勢在地人推薦東勢美食街老趙排骨牛肉麵，二代共同經營，因為老老闆愛吃牛肉麵，對老老闆娘手藝讚不絕口，兒子本著好東西和好朋友分享的理念，在老媽的一聲「開吧！」我們現在才能吃到他們家的排骨牛肉麵。
Loa Zhao Spare Ribs Beef Noodles is recommended by the locals.
It’s a shop runs by two generations; Father and Son. The recipe was only runs in the family; however the owner would like to share with friends who travel to Dongshi.
豆干絲似乎是東勢牛肉麵店必推的產品，可以每家都吃吃看，才會找到自己最喜歡的味道。
Dried shredded beans are must-try dish with beef noodle soup in Dongshi. Every restaurant has its own recipe for this dish.
名人是推薦阿木排骨飯，當我們吃了三家後，肚子撐到不行啦，只好下次再去品嚐囉~

東勢美食主要集中在三民路、中和街及早期的東勢火車站(客家文化園區)一帶，東勢麵食、水餃十分受歡迎，光是水餃、牛肉麵就有二、三十家，以牛肉麵或牛肉為主的美食店家有：老趙排骨牛肉麵、牛稼莊、黃牛肉水餃館、洞庭春原汁黃牛肉麵等十數家。水餃麵食類則有：東口小吃、盛東餃子館、仇媽媽山東餃子館、清美小吃部、老鄰居麵食小吃部、良哥麵食、水餃大王、你好小吃店等，其他還有崎頭肉圓及愛麵子等三角圓店。甜食類有十月紅豆餅、一中餅行、東勢豆花、老街黑糖剉冰等。
Dongshi restaurants are mainly in Sanmin Road, Zhonghe Street and the early Dongshi Railway Station (Hakka Cultural Park). Dongshi noodles and dumplings are very popular. There 20-30 shop sell beef noodles: Lao Zhao Spare Ribs Beef Noodles, Niujiazhuang, Beef Dumpling, Dongting Chunyuan Beef Noodles. Dumpling shops: Dongkou , Shengdong Dumplings, Qiu Mama Shandong Dumplings, Qingmei , Old Neighbors noodle, Liangge noddle shop, King Dumplings, Hello Snack Bar, etc., and other Qitou Meatballs. Sweets are: October Red Bean Cake, Yizhong Cake Shop, Dongshi bean curve, Lao Cai Brown Sugar Ice and so on.
